MLearningCenter helps students and tutors by serving as a gathering place which allows users to communicate with each other to get the things necessary for all of their college courses. Our featured services are:
  • A user friendly website to assist students in locating tutors registered here, and to view their profiles, which list what subjects they tutor.
  • A searchable e-commerce forum to list textbooks for sale, textbooks wanted, textbooks for exchange, and textbook donations.
  • A messaging system to facilitate negotiations between students and tutors or between textbook buyers and sellers.
  • The Pass CPT program, a six-week long class consisting of specialized curriculum in mathematics, which will prepare students of any proficiency level to pass the standardized College Placement Test.

Company History

MLearningCenter. was founded in the 2005 by Hien Nguyen, CEO and Dung Phan-Nguyen, COO. The basis of the company was to provide an accelerated math training program to help students pass the Computer Placement Test (CPT) and avoid remedial course, wasting them both time and money. In May 2005, MLearningCenter (formerly IntelMath) won the grand prize in the Graduate Division of the Howard J. Leonhardt New Venture Challenge International Business Plan Competition at Florida International University. This win earned MLearningCenter a mention in the May 16, 2005 issue of The Miami Herald. Hien Nguyen has also created a faculty web portal for colleges to use as a tool to extend their teaching ability with online file space and editable content called Modern Classroom Resource for Faculty and Students at www.MCProfessor.com, which will soon become a feature of the MLearningCenter (Multifaceted Academic Trade Hub) site and will allow tutors to host their sessions virtually.

Hien Nguyen’s Bio

Hien Nguyen Hien Nguyen, the President and CEO of MLearningCenter, brings significant technology and education management experience to the company. Mr. Nguyen is currently a Ph.D candidate in Computer Science at Florida International University, and has a Masters Degree in Telecommunications and Network, as well as a Bachelors of Science in Computer Science. With more than 12 years of experience in the field of education, Mr. Nguyen is dedicated to supporting education and helping others to achieve their goals. Through his experience as a private tutor, Mr. Nguyen discovered that there was a need for students to buy and sell books locally from people other than just the school bookstore. He also noticed that there was a lack of resources available for tutors to advertise their services. By developing MLearningCenter, Mr. Nguyen created a solution to that problem and provided a way for students and tutors to advertise and receive the best price for their products or services.

Dung Phan-Nguyen’s Bio

Dung Phan As MLearningCenter’s Chief Operating Officer, Dung Phan-Nguyen is responsible for the strategic and operational leadership of MLearningCenter’s worldwide sales, marketing and service. She is also responsible for operational management, budget development, conferencing, special event planning and membership solicitation and retention. Ms. Phan-Nguyen began her career as a Sales Representative in 1999 for Federate Department Stores. In 2001, she became the Marketing Manager for HD Graphic Inc, where she was responsible for consumer marketing strategy, brand management, advertising, and consumer promotions. Ms. Phan-Nguyen has over a decade of experience in mergers and acquisitions, business strategy planning, and workforce planning.

Nguyen Le’s Bio

Nguyen Le Mr. Le has been the senior software developer for MLearningCenter since 2006. He has more than 11 combined years of experience as a software developer in academic and private practice.
He currently holds a Masters Degree in Computer Science and Telecommunications at Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology.
Mr. Le has knowledge of multiple programming languages and used his skills in the development of MCProfessor.com, a Modern Classroom Resource for Faculty & Students.
 

Tek Lim’s Bio

Tek Lim Mr. Lim is a software developer at MLearningCenter who assisted with the design, development and testing of the site’s content. He possesses many valuable computer programming skills, as well as excellent communication skills, both of which contributed to the success of MLearningCenter.
Mr. Lim currently holds a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science from the Ho Chi Minh City University of Foreign Languages and Information Technology.
